Very clearly written, practical book, with a good introduction to all major Ore Microscopy fundamentals. The property tables for each ore mineral help one well onto the road to understanding the identification of ore minerals under a microscope. The drawings of ore mineral textures etc I found elpful.

The only thing missing of course is a 4/5(1). Provides an up-to-date introduction to the subject of ore microscopy, emphasizing the basic skills required for the study of opaque minerals in polished sections.

Describes the modern ore microscope, the preparation of polished and polished-thin sections of opaque minerals and ores, and the identification of these minerals using both qualitative techniques and the quantitative.
